Lawrence A. Roten
Waynesville -- Lawrence A. Roten of 107 Timoty Lane, died Wednesday in Asheville, Virginia Medical Center.
Born in Ashe County and a Haywood County resident most of his life, he was a son of the late Rev. Thomas S. and Cora Calloway Roten. A U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, he owned and operated Dellwood Garage for more than 50 years.
Surviving are his wife, Edna Boyd Roten, two brothers, Elmer Roten of Franklin and Jack Roten of Brighton, Mich.; two sisters, Ola Henry and Stella Francis of Waynesville; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert J. Ralls will officiate. Burial will be in Boyd Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Parents: Rev Thomas Sanders ROTEN and Cora Ida CALLOWAY.
