- The citation is Box 6, Estate File #12, Newberry County, South Carolina (microfilm #N72, South Carolina State Archives). This was sent by Carol Burdine of Ethel, Washington. Will of Abraham Eddins, dated 8 January 1790 in Laurens District, South Carolina and proved 8 January 1802 in Newberry District, South Carolina (he is said to have died 30 NOV 1801). The spelling is kept intact, they are not typos on my part (at least I hope). I have added explanation in [brackets, thus] only when I thought the meaning may be in question.
"In the name of God amen. I Abraham Edens of the County of Laurens & State of South Carolina Being in infirm state of halth = all though of Perfect Mind and Memory thanks be to God the Giver = Calling to Mind that Mortality of My Body and Knowing that it is appointed for all Men to Die do make and ordin
this My last will and testament that is to say principely and first of all I give unto and Recomend My Soul unto the hands of Allmighty God that give itt, & My Body I Recomend unto the Earth to be Decently Bured [buried] in Chistons [Christian] manor at the Discretion of My Executors & Relations and as to My
