Mrs. Roten, Macon Native Dies in Ga.
Mrs. Edna Ira Roten, 45, wife of Elmer Roten, of Franklin, died Wednesday of last week in an Atlanta, Georgia., hospital after an illness of two weeks.
Funeral services for Mrs. Roten, who was a native of this county, were conducted Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Franklin Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Officiating was the Rev. C. E. Murray, pastor. Burial was in Macon County, North Carolina - Woodlawn Cemtery.
Born May 2, 1909, Mrs. Roten was the daughter and Mrs. Eva Higdon Holbrook and the late W. F. Holbrook. She and Mr. Roten were married in 1928.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two sons, Tommy and Billy, of the home; seven daughters, Mrs. Maxine McClure, of Franklin, Route 2. Mrs. Kathryn Cruse, of Franklin, Mrs. Jerry Schultheis, of Winter Haven, Fla., and Patricia Louise, Jane, Mary Sue, and Linda, of the home; two brothers, Alex Holbrook, of Franklin and John Holbrook of Brevard; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were D. J. Carpenter, Bob McClure, Jack Cruse, Bob Tallent, Sam Tallent, and Boyd Long.
Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
