     Princess Beatrice was born on 25 June 1242 at Bordeaux, Gascony, France.² She was the daughter of Henry III, King of England and Éléanore, Queen of England.¹ Princess Beatrice married Jean II, duc de Bretagne, son of Jean I "le Roux", duc de Bretagne and Blanche de Champagne, on 22 January 1260 at St. Denis Abbey, Paris, France.^1,3 Princess Beatrice died on 24 March 1275 at London, England, at age 32 years, 8 months and 27 days.³ Princess Beatrice was buried in Reading Abbey, Berkshire, England. Princess Beatrice was buried in Greyfriar's Church, Newgate, London, England. Her remains were probably removed later to London. Her tomb, however, was lost during the Reformation.³

     Sir John de Muscegros was born on 10 August 1232. He was the son of Sir Robert de Muscegros and Hawise Malet. Sir John de Muscegros married Cecily Avenel. Sir John de Muscegros died on 8 May 1275 at age 42 years, 8 months and 28 days.

     Cecile des Baux dit Passerose was born circa 1224.      William Marmion was the son of Robert Marmion the younger.^2,1 Arms: veree ung fess de goulz.³ William Marmion acquired, by right of his wife, the town of Ludington at Northamptonshire, England.² He was underage and in the custody of William de Cauntelo in 1243.¹ He died before 1276.³

     Emmeline de Ridelisford was born in 1223.² She was the daughter of Lord of Bray Walter de Ridelisford and Annora (?).³ Emmeline de Ridelisford married Hugh de Lacy, Earl of Ulster, son of Hugo II de Lacy and Roesia de Monemue, circa 1233; His 2nd. Her 1st. s.p.^3,4 Emmeline de Ridelisford married Stephen, 4th Earl of Salisbury, son of William Longespée, 3rd Earl of Salisbury and Ela of Salisbury, in 1243/44; Her 2nd.^3,4 Emmeline de Ridelisford died in 1276 at age 53 years.³

      Louis de France was born in 1265.¹ He was the son of Philippe III "le Hardi", roi de France and Princesa Isabella de Aragón.¹ Louis de France died in 1276 at age 11 years. It was rumored that his step-mother, Marie of Brabant, had him murdered, but a wise woman in Germany, who had the ability to tell fortunes, defended her.^1,2

     Henry de Aldithley was born in 1251.² He was the son of James de Aldithley, Justiciar of Ireland and Ela Longespée.¹ Henry de Aldithley died in 1276 at age 25 years. D.s.p.²

Its Moslem defenders, under letter of truce, had fled into the south. Two miles away at the port of Valencia only the fleets of Aragon broke the blue monotony of the Mediterranean. The city itself lay empty, its mosques and shops deserted, its minarets desolate against the autumn sky. High above its battlements, upon the massive tower of the main city gate, the banner of Aragon flew, crimson bars against a sheet of gold. This was a day to be remembered in history -- Saturday, the feast of St. Denis, October 9, 1238.

On the green plains outside, multitudes of jubilant Christians surrounded the conquered city. From their camps a colorful procession was being marshaled. Details in the royal memoirs and elsewhere help reconstruct the scene: mitered bishops and archbishops, and clerics in cloth-of-gold; ladies and courtiers and great barons with their panoplied households; troops of men-at-arms, militia from the towns, sailors, crowds of merchants and hangers-on; ranks of caparisoned chivalry, an unnumbered host of crusading volunteers from many lands; and the king and queen of Aragon themselves. All the pageantry of the age of chivalry glittered here. Above the bright trappings, the gaudy shields and glinting steel, sounded the murmur of the mob and the trumpets of victory. The magnificence would have held a solemn air too, a kind of awe. For this was a religious occasion. As the great assemblage in ordered array moved toward the city walls, the chant of the Te Deum rose into the morning air. The procession advanced to the gate of Bab-el-Schachard, passed under its grim tower entrance, and wound its way into the maze of narrow streets. James of Aragon (1213-1276) could at last write that he was king "from the Rhone to Valencia."

The exploit rang through Christendom. While Islam "wept over this immense evil," imaginations in the West were stirred."¹⁶ His appearance was described by the chronicler Bernat Desclot with breathless enthusiasm: "This King, Jaume of Aragon, was the handsomest man in the world; he was four inches taller than any other man, very well shaped and endowed in all his members; he had an imposing ruddy face and a long perfectly straight nose, a large well-formed mouth, with fine teeth so white that they resembled pearls; sparkling eyes, and red hair that looked like gold thread; and wide shoulders . . . he burned with enthusiasm, and was skilled with weapons, and strong, and brave, and generous, and polite to all men, and easily moved to pity: and his whole heart's desire and will was to wage war upon the Saracens."¹⁷ Styled Dei gracia rex Aragonum Maioricarum et Valentiae, comes Barchinone et Urgelli, dominus Montis Pessullani (Jaume by the grace of God king of Aragon, Majorca and Valentia, count of Barcelona and Urgell, lord of Montpellier) in 1257.¹⁸ He was a witness where Alfonso X "el Sabio", rey de Castilla y León had to call upon his father-in-law James I of Aragón to subdue the territory of Murcia, which had rebelled, a second time the result of which was that the kingdom of Murcia, although remaining within the Crown of Castile, was to become culturally hybrid in 1264.⁸ Jaume I, rey de Aragón helped his son-in-law Alfonso X of Castile to suppress the rebellion of the Moors in the Kingdom of Murcia between 1264 and 1266.^2,8 He completed the conquest of Murcia, which his son Peter began, when Murcia city fell in 1266.¹⁴ He set out on a crusade to the Holy Land, though it was a failure, in 1269.² He was at ecumenical council of Lyons in 1274.¹⁴ He died on 27 July 1276 at Valencia, Valence Province, Valencia, Spain, at age 68 years, 5 months and 25 days.^2,14 Jaume I, rey de Aragón was buried in Cabret.

     Robert Le Strange of Wrockwarden was younger son of John Le Strange III of Knockyn.³ He was younger brother of Roger, Baron Strange, of Ellesmere. He was born circa 1232 at Hunstanton, Norfolk, England.⁴ He was the son of Hamon Le Strange.² Robert Le Strange of Wrockwarden married Eleanore de Blancminster, daughter of William de Blancminster, at Blancminster, Norfolk, England.³ Robert Le Strange of Wrockwarden was about to go to the Holy Land in 1270/71.³ He was pardoned for cutting and selling a part of a wood, which had been given to him by his brother Hamon, at Chawton in 1272 at Hampshire, England.³ He did homage for the manor, which his brother Hamon had given him by charter, of Wrockwardine in 1275 at Telford & Wrekin, England.³ He died in August 1276 at (probably) Litcham, Norfolk, England.⁴ Arms: Gules crusily and two lions passant argent.⁵

     Her inheritance was the part of Album Monasterium held from Earl de Warenne and was known as Whitechurch.¹ Also called Eleanor de Whitchurch.² Eleanore de Blancminster was daughter and heir of William de Blancminster.¹ She was born circa 1231 at Blancminster, Norfolk, England.³ She was the daughter of William de Blancminster.¹ Eleanore de Blancminster married Robert Le Strange of Wrockwarden, son of Hamon Le Strange, at Blancminster, Norfolk, England.¹ Eleanore de Blancminster died on 12 October 1276.¹

     Hervey de Chaworth was born circa 1248. He was the son of Patrick de Chaworth and Hawise de Londres.¹ Hervey de Chaworth was a witness where Edward I "Longshanks", King of England took part in a Crusade, with his cousin, Henry of Cornwall, in 1270 at the Holy Land. Hervey de Chaworth attended Prince Edward (later Edward I) to the Holy Land in 1270.² He died before 1278.¹

     András, Herceg of Slovenia was born in 1268.¹ He was the son of István V, Király Magyarország and Erzsebet of the Kumans.¹ Duke of Slavonia between 1269 and 1278.¹ András, Herceg of Slovenia died in 1278 at age 10 years.¹

     Pain de Chaworth was born circa 1247. Pain de Chaworth attended Prince Edward (later Edward I) to the Holy Land in 1270.² He was a witness where Roger, 6th Lord Mortimer commanded to assist Pain de Chaworth, general of the king's army in West Wales, in 1276/77 at 5 Edward I.¹ Pain de Chaworth was constituted general of the king's army in West Wales, whereupon Roger de Mortimer had command to aid him with all his power, and to admit him into all his castles and garrisons, and so successful against the Welsh was he that they sued for peace and paid homage to King Edward in 1276/77 at 5 Edward I.¹ He died in 1278.
