On 14 May 1264 at the Battle of Lewes, East Sussex, England.2 Robert V "the Competitor", 5th Lord of Annandale was a companion of Henry III in the battle against Simon de Montfort on 14 May 1264 at the Battle of Lewes, East Sussex, England.2 Summons writs - recorded "- merely -" on the Welsh Rolls and ignored by Dugdale. Includes 11 Earls and 99 others "who must, if the writs be good, be accounted as Barons." In 1283.5 He was summoned by writ directed "Roberto de Brus domino Vallis Anand" in 1283.5 He first claimed the Scottish Crown under a verbal nomination (by tanistry) to him by Alexander III, failing the Maid of Norway, and her issue, in 1285/86.1 He was one of thirteen possible successors, as the 4th great-grandson of Duncan I, of the late Queen Margaret of Scotland, between 1290 and 1292.6,1 Competition for the Scottish Crown, which John de Baliol won, Robert Bruce was runner-up, decided by Edward I of England. Between 26 September 1290 and 17 November 1292.1 He died before 3 May 1294.1

     Arms: Sable, a lion rampant, argent, crowned, or.3 Nicholas, 1st Lord Segrave was son and heir of Gilbert, grandson of Stephen, de Segrave.1 He was born in 1238 at Segrave, Leicestershire, England.4 He was the son of Gilbert, 3rd Baron Segrave and Amabil de Chaucombe.1,2 Nicholas, 1st Lord Segrave married Maud Lucy before 1256.2 Nicholas, 1st Lord Segrave attended King Henry III into France, but soon espoused the cause of the Barons in 1258/59 at 43 Henry III.2 He was among those who appeared openly in arms against the King, and fortified Northampton, for which his own lands were seized by the crown, in 1262/63 at 47 Henry III.2 He was Knighted on 1 August 1263.1 He was a witness where Gilbert "the Red Earl" (de Clare), 6th Earl of Gloucester and Hertford led the citizens of London against the crown.2 Nicholas, 1st Lord Segrave fled, on the fall of Northampton to the royalists, to London, where the citizens having raised a huge army, they made him a general, marching alongside Gilbert de Clare and Henry de Hastings.2 1st Baron Segrave between December 1264 and June 1295.5,1 Writs of 1264. Summons to Parliament called by the Earl of Leicester, in the King's name, all the while holding the King prisoner. Five Earls included. On 24 December 1264.6 He was summoned to the Earl of Leicester's Parliament by writ directed "Nicholao de Segrave" on 24 December 1264.5,1,2,6 2nd Baron's War - The Crown defeats Simon de Montfort's, Earl of Leicester's, forces, killing and beheading him. On 4 August 1265 at the Battle of Evesham, Worcestershire, England.7 He was present on the side of Simon de Montfort, but wounded and taken prisoner on 4 August 1265 at the Battle of Evesham, Hereford and Worcester, England.2 He was admitted to the benefit of the Dictum of Kenilworth and obtained a full pardon, with restoration of his lands, which had been seized, after 1265.2 He was a witness where Edward I "Longshanks", King of England took part in a Crusade, with his cousin, Henry of Cornwall, in 1270 at the Holy Land. Nicholas, 1st Lord Segrave was attended Prince Edward to the Holy Land in 1270.2 He was attended the King in a campaign against the Welsh, and subsequently employed in Scotland and Ireland, in 1275/76 at 4 Edward I.2 Summons writs - recorded "- merely -" on the Welsh Rolls and ignored by Dugdale. Includes 11 Earls and 99 others "who must, if the writs be good, be accounted as Barons." In 1283.8 He was summoned by writ directed "Nicholao de Segrave" in 1283.9 He was summoned to Shrewsbury on 28 June 1283.1 He died between July 1295 and 12 November 1295 at England.1

Edmund's nickname "Crouchback" (meaning "Crossback," or crusader) was misinterpreted, probably intentionally, by his direct descendant, King Henry IV, who, in claiming the throne (1399), asserted that Edmund had really been Henry III's eldest son but had been disinherited as a hunchback. Edmund, styled "Crouchback," 1st Earl of Lancaster was born on 16 January 1244/45 at London, Middlesex, England.1 He was the son of Henry III, King of England and Éléanore, Queen of England.1 Edmund, styled "Crouchback," 1st Earl of Lancaster was created Earl of Chester by his father in 1253. Earl of Chester at England in 1253.2 He was offered, by Albert the Papal legate, the Kingdom of Sicily on 7 January 1253/54.1 He was confirmed as King of Sicily by Pope Innocent IV on 14 May 1254.1 He was a witness where Manfred von Staufen, King of Naples and Sicily saw Edmund, son of Henry III of England, invested with the Sicilian kingdom in April 1255.3 Edmund, styled "Crouchback," 1st Earl of Lancaster was the successor of Simon V de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester; 6th Earl of Leicester. Edmund, styled "Crouchback," 1st Earl of Lancaster was deprived of his Sicilian Kingdom when Pope Urban nullified the investure of Pope Alexander IV and offered the Kingdom instead to Charles of Anjou before May 1265.4 He was a witness where Manfred von Staufen, King of Naples and Sicily negotiated with the new pope, Urban IV, but this came to nothing; and Urban, considering Alexander IV's agreement with England void, offered the Sicilian crown to Charles of Anjou before May 1265.3 Earl of Derby at England on 12 July 1265.2 Edmund, styled "Crouchback," 1st Earl of Lancaster was created Earl of Derby by his father on 12 July 1265.2 He had a charter to him and the heirs of his body of the honour of Leicester and of all the lands held by Simon, Earl of Leicester, and although not called Earl of that county, became Earl of Leicester on 26 October 1265.5 7th Earl of Leicester between 1265 and 1296.6 He was created Earl of Lancaster by his father on 30 June 1267.2,4 1st Earl of Lancaster at England on 30 June 1267.2 He married his first wife in the newly rebuilt Westminster Abbey on 9 April 1269.4 He married Aveline de Fortibus, daughter of William de Forez, 6th Earl of Aumale and Isabel de Reviers, on 9 April 1269 at Westminster Abbey, England; His 1st. s.p.4 Edmund, styled "Crouchback," 1st Earl of Lancaster was a witness where Nicholas FitzMartin given custody, by Edmund, the King's son, of the castles and counties of Carmarthen and Cardigan in 1271 at Wales.7 Edmund, styled "Crouchback," 1st Earl of Lancaster became, in right of his second wife, Count of Champagne and Brie in 1276 at France.8 Count of Champagne and Brie at France between 1276 and 5 June 1296.4 He married Blanche d' Artois, daughter of Robert I, comte d' Artois and Mahaud de Brabant, between 27 July 1276 and 29 October 1276; His 2nd. He died while besieging Bordeaux.8 He was the predecessor of Thomas, styled "of Lancaster," 2nd Earl of Lancaster; 8th Earl of Leicester.6 Edmund, styled "Crouchback," 1st Earl of Lancaster was the predecessor of Thomas, styled "of Lancaster," 2nd Earl of Lancaster; 2nd Earl of Lancaster.11 Edmund, styled "Crouchback," 1st Earl of Lancaster was buried in Westminster Abbey, England.8

He was the successor of Willem II, Graaf van Holland; 14th Count of Holland.1 Floris V "der Keerlen God", Graaf van Holland was born in July 1254 at Leiden, Holland, the Netherlands.3,4 He was the son of Willem II, Graaf van Holland and Elisabeth von Braunschweig.1,2 15th Count of Holland between 28 January 1256 and 1296.1 Floris V "der Keerlen God", Graaf van Holland married Beatrix van Vlaanderen in 1269.2 Floris V "der Keerlen God", Graaf van Holland was one of thirteen possible successors, as the 6th great-grandson of Duncan I, of the late Queen Margaret of Scotland, between 1290 and 1292.1 Competition for the Scottish Crown, which John de Baliol won, Robert Bruce was runner-up, decided by Edward I of England. Between 26 September 1290 and 17 November 1292.5 He died on 27 June 1296 at Muiderberg at age 41 years and 11 months. He was seized and murdered by several Dutch nobles after ending his long friendly relations with Edward I of England and making an alliance with France, at the urging of his cousin, John of Avesnes.1,3,4 He was the predecessor of Jean II, comte de Hainaut et Hollande; 16th Count of Holland.

He was the son of William, 5th Earl of Mar and Elizabeth Comyn.1 Donald, 6th Earl of Mar married Helen of North Wales, daughter of Llywelyn ein Llyw Olaf ap Gruffydd, Tywysog Cymru.1 6th Earl of Mar circa 1266.3 Donald, 6th Earl of Mar died after 25 July 1297.4

      Roger, Lord Mowbray was son and heir of Roger de Mowbray of the Isle of Axholme, co. Lincoln (by Maud, daughter and co-heir of William de Beauchamp), and grandson of William de Mowbray, Surety Baron for the Magna Carta.1 Also called Lord Mowbray, 1st of Axholme. He was born circa 1254 at Axholme, Lincolnshire, England. The eldest son.2 He was the son of Roger de Mowbray and Maud de Beauchamp of Bedford.1 Roger, Lord Mowbray married Rohese de Clare, daughter of Richard (de Clare), 5th Earl of Gloucester and Hertford and Maud de Lacy, circa 1270.2,3 Roger, Lord Mowbray made proof of his age and had livery of his lands in 1277/78 at 6 Edward I.4 1st Lord Mowbray between 1282 and 1297.5,1 He was summoned this year with the other Peers of the Realm in the Parliament held at Shrewsbury on 1 January 1282/83 at 11 Edward I.1 He was further summoned to Parliaments between 1284 and 1297 at 12 to 25 Edward I.1 Arms: Gules, a lion rampant argent.6 Parliament Summons by King Edward I on 8 June 1294.5 Roger was summoned to parliament by Edward I "Longshanks", King of England on 8 June 1294 as 1st Baron Mowbray of Axholme (considered the most senior Baron).5 Roger, Lord Mowbray was buried in Fountains Abbey. He died before 21 November 1297 at Ghent, Flanders.1 Roger, Lord Mowbray was buried in Fountains Abbey.1 He was the first of the family to whom a writ of summons to Parliment is now on record.1
