James de Aldithley, Justiciar of Ireland was first or second son of Henry of Aldithley and Berta Mainwaring.2 He was a witness where Nicholas, 1st Lord Audley second son and eventual representative of Nicholas de Aldithely, who was son of James de Aldithley, one of the Lords-Marcher, and an active adherent of Henry III in his contests with the Barons, whose father, Henry de Aldithley, built the castle of Heleigh, and founded Hulton Abbey in 1223.3 James de Aldithley, Justiciar of Ireland was born circa 1220 at England.2 He was the son of Henry de Aldithley and Bertred Mainwaring.1 James de Aldithley, Justiciar of Ireland married Ela Longespée, daughter of William Longespée and Idonia de Camville, in 1244 at Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.4,5 James de Aldithley, Justiciar of Ireland had livery of his lands in 1246/47 at 31 Henry III.6 He was an active adherent of Henry III in his contests with the Barons between 1250 and 1260.1 Keeper of the castle of Newcastle-under-Lyme on 30 October 1250.2 He was a great favorite of Richard, Earl of Cornwall, at whose coronation as King of Almaine (Germany) he assisted in May 1257.6 He was a witness where Richard, "of Cornwall," Earl of Cornwall crowned as King of the Romans, i.e. emperor-designate, in May 1257 at Aachen, Germany. Arms: De gueules, fretté d'or.7 James de Aldithley, Justiciar of Ireland joined in a letter of the Barons to the Pope in 1258.2 Justice of Chester in 1259.6 He was one of the Lords-Marcher, actively employed for some years against the Welsh, circa 1260.1,6 Justiciar of Ireland between 1262 and 1272.8 He was a witness where Roger, 6th Lord Mortimer with other barons-marcher, giving battle to Llewellyn, Prince of Wales in 1264.6 James de Aldithley, Justiciar of Ireland was with Roger de Mortimer and the other barons-marcher, giving battle to Llewellyn, Prince of Wales in 1264.6 He was joined the Earl of Gloucester at Evesham in rescuing the king, who had become captive to the Earl of Leicester at the battle of Lewes.6 He performed a pilgrimage to the shrine of St. James in Galicia in 1267/68 at 52 Henry III, Spain.6 Annals of Monte Fernando 1270: "Item dominus James de Audele venit justiciarius Hibernie."9 He embarked in the Crusade with King Henry and Prince Edward in 1270.6 Annales Hiberniae 1270: "Jacobus de Audley Justitiarius."8 Annales Hiberniae 1272: "Interficitur justitiarius Jacobus Audley, lapsus ab equo in Thothomomia, cui successit Mauritius Mauritii."8 He died circa 11 June 1272 at 56 Henry III, Ireland. He died by "breaking his neck."5 His estate was probated on 16 July 1272; Writ for his Inq. p. m..5 He was the predecessor of Maurice fitz Maurice, Lord Justice of Ireland; Justiciar of Ireland.8

"In the interests of protecting Christianity," Bela advised the Pope, "we married our first born son to a Cuman girl... to secure the possibility of converting these people to Christianity."3,4 István V, Király Magyarország was ruler between 1256 and 1260 at Steiermark, Austria.6 He lost the Steiermark to Ottakar II of Bohemia in 1260.6 He was a witness where Premysl Ottokar II, King of Bohemia gained the Steiermark from the Hungarians in 1260.7 István V, Király Magyarország was the "younger king" after 1262.6 He succeeded his father to the throne of Hungary in 1270. He was during his short reign in constant battles with King Ottokar II.6 King of Hungary between 1270 and 1 August 1272.8,4,5 He died on 6 August 1272 at Csepel Island at age 32 years, 9 months and 19 days. He was preparing to recover his infant son Ladislas (the future Ladislas IV), whom rebels had kidnapped, when he died suddenly.6

Hugues IV, duc de Bourgogne died on 27 October 1272 at Villaines-en-Duesmois, France, at age 60 years, 7 months and 18 days.4 He was the predecessor of Robert II, duc de Bourgogne; Duke of Burgundy. Hugues IV, duc de Bourgogne was buried in Citeaux, France.5

He saw invasions by the Greeks under the emperor John III Ducas Vatatzes at Nicaea and by the Bulgars under Tsar John Asen II substantially reduce the territory of the empire, leaving only the area around Constantinople to the Latins between 1228 and 1236.2 He had Jean de Brienne, titular king of Jerusalem, as regent during his minority between 1228 and 1236.2 Latin Emperor at Constantinople, Romania, between 1228 and 1261.3 He married Marie de Namur, daughter of Jean de Brienne, roi de Jérusalem and Princess Berengaria Alfonsez de León, in 1229; From this union descend the Titular Emperors of Constantinople.1 Baudouin II Porphyrogénète, imperator Romaniae went to western Europe to solicit funds and military aid in 1236.2 He was a witness where Louis IX "le Saint", roi de France bought several alleged relics that had been kept at Constantinople from the now destitute emperor Baldwin II, including Jesus' crown of thorns and a large portion of the True Cross, and placed them in the Sainte-Chapelle circa 1245 at Paris, France.2 Baudouin II Porphyrogénète, imperator Romaniae sold a large number of alleged relics that had been kept at Constantinople, including Jesus' crown of thorns and a large portion of the True Cross, to the French king Louis IX, who placed them in the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris circa 1245.2 He went again to Europe for funds and aid, for now his treasury was empty, and he was forced to break up parts of the imperial palace for firewood in 1245 at Constantinople, Romania.2 15th Count of Namur at German Empire between 1260 and 1263.4 He was lost his throne when Michael VIII Palaeologus restored Greek rule to the capital in 1261 at Constantinople, Byzantine Empire.2 He fled through Greece to Italy and France after Michael VIII Palaeologus captured Constantinople on 25 July 1261.2 He persuaded Charles of Anjou, king of Naples and Sicily, to pension him and sign a treaty for the reconquest of the empire in May 1267.2 He saw his son Philip married to Charles's daughter Beatrice in October 1273.2 He witnessed the marriage of Philippe de Courtenay, empeureur titulaire de Constantinople and Béatrix de Sicile in October 1273 at Foggia, Apulia, Kingdom of Sicily; 2nd cousins, 1x removed.5,6,2 Baudouin II Porphyrogénète, imperator Romaniae was the successor of Philippe de Courtenay, empeureur titulaire de Constantinople; titular Emperor of Constantinople.6 Baudouin II Porphyrogénète, imperator Romaniae died in October 1273 at Foggia, Kingdom of Sicily, at age 56 years. He died a few days after the marriage of his son.2
