Chessie Estella Blackburn Church, 98, was remembered at funeral services held June 4 at Old Fields Baptist Church. Rev. Jack Miller and Rev. Bill Burkett officiated. Burial followed in the Old Fields Cemetery.
Mrs. Church was born in Ashe County to Lawrence and Callie Calloway Blackburn.
She is survived by two daughters, Nona Church and Willa Dean Church, both of Fleetwood; one brother, Howard Blackburn, West Jefferson; one sister, Bessie Mae Hartsog, West Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.
Badger Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Parents: Lawrence Decater BLACKBURN and Hiley Caroline "Callie" CALLOWAY.
