Marilyn Krause Fulton, died April 2, 2004, at Rex Hospital surrounded by her beloved family she nurtured and cherished. She was born Septmber 23, 1930, in Mercedes, Texas, the daughter of the late Arnold and Irma Krause. A service to celebrate Marilyn's life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 5010 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, on Saturday, April 3, at 11 o'clock a.m. The Reverend Michael Frye will officiate. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 46 years, Charles L. Fulton and children, Tommy H. Oates (Barbara), Stephen H. Oates (Wanda), Karen (Anna) O. Menzies (Phil), Robert W. Oates (Laurie) of Boone, and David C. Fulton (Susan) of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Jason Oates (Laura), Kathryn O. Fuqua (Mark) of Los Angeles, Adam Oates of Atlanta, Justin Oates of Wilmington, Holt Menzies, Peter Menzies, Jesse Oates and Austin Oates, both of Boone; great-grandchildren, Kylee Zerebnick of Charlotte and Luke Oates; brother, Milton Krause of Fort Worth, Texas. Her first husband, Lt. Tommy Oates, was killed in a Navy plane crash in 1957. Those who know and love Marilyn remember her light, laughter, love, and acceptance she brought to all fortunate enough to meet her. We will miss her beautiful presence and spirit and will honor her memory by offering kindness, love, and affection, which she gave generously to all. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Garden Fund of Grace Lutheran Church, so Marilyn's love will continue to grow and flourish through God's gift of flowers and all living things.
