Bertha Kilby Richardson
Bertha Kilby Richardson, daughter of Elder T. H. and Marinthia Kilby, was born March 3,1880 and departed this life August 15, 1961, making her stay on earth 81 years, 5 months, and 12 days. She was married to Luther Richardson, who preceded her in death. To this union were born 10 children, Maude Testerman of Holt wood. Pa., Edna Sexton of Marion, Va., Bradley, Fred, Kyle, Dwight, and Wade, all of Rugby, Va., Herman of Bel Air, Md., and Dougal and an infant who preceded her in death.
She professed a hope and joined Big Helton Primitive Baptist Church around 60 years ago and remained a faithful and dedicated member until death. Surviving are 8 children, 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, 3 sisters: Mattie Owen of Pequca, Pa., Ala McGuire of Boone, N. C., and Charity Reeves of West Jefferson, N. C.; 6 br6thers: Millard of Peach Bottom, Pa., Elder Charlie of Galax, Va., Gaither of West Jefferson, N. C., Elder Webb of Rock, W. Va., Carl and Preston of Marion, Va. She was a kind and good mother and neighbor. She will be greatly missed. She was so patient through all her long suffering. We will all miss her and greatly but we feel our loss is Heaven's gain.
