JAFFREY, N.H.A. Jane (Doherty) Ahearn, 85, of 304 Main St., formerly of Winchendon,
Mass., died Tuesday, April 27, in Monadnock Community Hospital, Peterborough. Born Oct. 7, 1907,
in Winchendon, she was the daughter of Bernard and Julia T. (Harrigan) Doherty, and lived in Winchendon
most of her life before moving to Jaffrey in 1989. She was a graduate of Murdock High School in Winchendon,
and the former Burbank Hospital School of Nursing in Fitchburg in Fitchburg, Mass. Mrs. Ahearn was a registered
nurse and worked many years at the former Winchendon Hospital, retiring in 1976. She was a communicant
of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Winchendon, and a member of the Burbank Nurses' Alumni.
Her husband, Raymond P. Ahearn, died in 1975. A son, Bernard P.
Ahearn, died in 1989, and a daughter, Sheila Pane [sic], died in 1971. The funeral will be held Friday
from Fletcher Funeral Home, 70 Pleasant St., Winchendon, with a Mass at 9 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of
Mary Church, 52 Spruce St., Winchendon. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours at
the funeral home are 7 to 9 p.m. |
