(RN=1264). Originally from Sainte-Germain de Bourgeuil, Indre-et-Loire, France.
(CBL.456) Guillaume was a blacksmith by trade and on 13 July 1626 in the parish of St. Etienne,
Chinon, France, had married Francoise Corbineau (Charbonneau). With this wife, two children and
a valet, he embarked on the vessel SAINT JEHAN at La Rochelle,France, on 1 April 1636 to go to
New France. He was one of the most prominent citizens of Port Royal.
In 1640 Governor D'Aulnay directed him, along with Germain Doucet dit Le Verdure and
Isaac Pesseley, to start proceedings against Charles de La Tour.
On 16 August 1654, as trustee for the inhabitants, Guillaume signed the act of capitulation of
Port Royal. Francoise having died, Guillaume married Madeleine.
In the 1671 census of Port Royal, he is listed with this second wife (60 years, farmer).
Guillaume and Madeleine were the parents of six children, all born at Port Royal.

(RN=1268) B.A. v2. (CBL.976) JeanOlivier or one of his ancestors came from the town of Aigre(ville d'Aigre) in the Charente area of France. He arrived inAcadie about 1663. The 1671 census lists him as a 28 year oldplowman with two arpents of plowed land, six horned animals andsix sheep. The 1678 census shows him living at a place calledSt. Cristoffe on the Ruisseau Sainte Marie on four arpents ofland. Jean Olivier and Marie had nine known children, all bornat Port Royal.

[1268] Oliver D'Aigre, a 28 year old ploughman was registered at Port Royal in the 1671
census. This name has its origins in the town of Aigre (Charente). Certain members of this
lineage in the Beaubassin area changed the name to Daigle around 1727.1
