(RN=64)
"Francois Louviere claims 1,O35-94/1OO acres at the back of his land, fronting on the east side
of the Bayou Teche. ...Francois Louviere exposes that he has lost the concession of a
second depth of the land which he occupies on the east side of the Teche, in the quarter of
Fausse Pointe, which has been granted to him by the Baron de Carondelet, and not being able to
support his large family without it, humbly begs a grant for the said second depth, following
the course of the limits of the front tract a plot of survey by Francois Gonsoulin, dated 2O-
Oct-18O2. ...That the son of the claimant settled on the land in 18O1, and inhabited and
cultivated it one year and a half, after which Benjamin Louvier, brother of the claimant,
inhabited and cultivated it until it was taken possession by the claimant.
Joseph Broussard - before the board - 24 Oct 1812, hath deposed,'That the land has been
inhabited and cultivated, without intermission, for the last 13 years by the claimant or for
his use.' The claimant having other lands conceded to him by the Spanish Government, bars his
claim to a settlement right; But ...the commissioners are of opinion ... in their opinion, ought
tobe confirmed. (Looks like he got it!).
18O8, his children inherited his land.

Thanks Roger,
This is great info on my 5th great grand parents! I never new that Brigette
(Breaux)
Thibodeaux died leaving such a young baby! That young baby (Marie-Louise) was
my 4th great grandmother who married Francois (Memoine) Louviere. The only
info I have on her is that she died in 1808 at age 41. She had a son;
Francois Xavier Louvier, b. 2/3/1780, Fausse Point,Iberia, La., he married
Suzanne Arthemise Hebert.
Thanks so much!
Linda Louviere-d'Amours.

Census*1771 Marie Louise Thibodeaux appeared on the census of 1771 at Attakapas; Brigitte died before the first census of the Attakapas District on 25 April

Story* Notes for MAGDELEINE LEBLANC:

The abstract below was taken from Ensemble Encore: Together Again! The Acadian Memorial Archive at http://jaguar.net-connect.net/amemorial/

Given Names: Marie Magdeleine (Madeleine) Surname: LeBlanc

Date of Birth: 1/1/1758 Mother: Élizabeth Boudrot Father: Étienne LeBlanc

Marriage: Married (1) Joseph Landry dit Dios, son of Abraham Landry and Marguerite Flan, at St. Jacques de Cabannocé, February 23, 1773. Married (2) Henri (Henry) Robichaux, son of Amable (Aimable) Robichaud and Anastasie Dugas, at Cabannocé, September 8, 1787.

Children: First marriage: Simon (born April 15, 1782), Jacques Donat (born December 11, 1783), Pierre (baptized December 24, 1785), Marie Madeleine (baptized May 1, 1788)

Louisiana: Ecclesiastical records indicate that Etienne LeBlanc's family was in Louisiana in 1765. The family probably settled temporarily in the Attakapas District before moving to Cabannocé. The April 9, 1766, census lists the following persons in Etienne LeBlanc's household: Etienne (43), his wife Elizabeth Boudrot (45), and the following children: Simon (22), Etienne (15), Mathurin (12), Joseph (5), Marguerite (19), Magdelaine (8), and Marie (2). The family resided on a parcel of land measuring six arpents frontage on the right bank of the Mississippi River. Etienne LeBlanc, her brother, owned two firearms. Identified in the September 14, 1769, census of St. Jacques de Cabannocé as an eleven-year-old member of her widowed mother's household. The April 15, 1777, census of the inhabitants of the Ascension Parish of the Lafourche des Chetimachas District indicates that she was an eighteen-year-old member of her widowed mother's household. On November 30, 1794, LeBlanc "caused [the] sale of [the] estate of her first husband . . . to be made." This estate included a tract of land with six arpents frontage on the right bank of the Mississippi River in Ascension Parish. It was bounded above by the parish church and below by the land of the Widow Landry. Improvements included a house of sur sol construction measuring thirty by sixteen feet.
