OTHER INFORMATION

Logan County takes its name from General Benjamin Logan, a soldier in the Indian Wars. Campbell Hill, in the county is the highest point in Ohio, rising about 1550 feet above sea level.

The county seat of Bellefontaine, which is the French word for "beautiful fountain" was settled in 1806 and named for the springs in the area. Still in use today in the city is the first concrete pavement in the nation, laid around the city's courthouse in 1891.

Probate Judge has birth, marriage, & probate records; Clerk of Courts has divorce & civil court records from 1818; County Recorder has land records.
