Robert took a trip back to Crawford Co (Apr 99) and he writes. JesseBarlow married two women and had children with both. Maybe they both werenamed Rebecca. His only source for Elizabeth Gibbons was Crawford Countyhistory. "Jesse first married Elizabeth Gibbons 9 Mar 1818 and they had5 sons and two daughters. In 1837 he married Rebecca Biggs and they had 5children." Jesse Barlow came from Kentucky about 1816 and settled inHunsonville Twp with his first family. In 1842 he married Rebecca BiggsHill widow of William Hill. About this time he settled on the Brich farm.

My mother Hattie Naomi (Gray) McTaggart wrote her memoir's while still of sound mind at 70+ (B: 1902). Have three notebooks full of relatives both living and dead. Her first passages mention Emily Barlow (B: 1845) (D:1877) as wife to Archibald W. McTaggart (M:26 Jan 1860). A cousin of mine sent me his notes of the McTaggart side and he mentions Emily Barlow as the daughter of Jesse Barlow and Rebecca (Hill) (Barlow) Biggs. No concrete documentation but its a lead that deserves more study. Came across your inquiry while going through Crawford County Site. McTaggarts were from Robinson. Hope this helps. If I come across more Ill let you know.

Note given to me from Florence Barlow Wurtz has Henry Barlow as a Justice of the Peace in Indiana. Indiana researchers can't find any information for Henry being a J.P.

Mary Jane Reapp ¹ was born ² 22 Feb 1826 in Ohio. She married ³ Henry Barlow 5 Nov 1846 in Bartholomew Co, Indiana.
