I am currently "remodeling" Bushart Branches. Look for more of the site to be back up soon.

This site is dedicated to the descendants of Jacob Bushart, Sr. (1766-1852) and his wife, Ann "Nancy" Fulenwider. This family began in the German community of northeast Cabarrus County, North Carolina. In 1823, the Busharts moved west, settling in Henry County, Tennessee. From there, the Bushart family spread to Weakley and Obion Counties in Tennessee, Fulton and Hickman Counties in Kentucky, various counties in Arkansas, and other locales.
Today, several thousand people can trace their ancestry back through Jacob Bushart, Sr. and Ann Fulenwider. Many of these people know this ancestry; many do not. The goal of this site is to present the facts of the Bushart family, a family older than the United States, and to find every person, living or deceased, who can count Jacob Bushart, Sr. and Ann Fulenwider as their ancestors.

Note that Jacob Bushart signed his name "Boshart" and Henry Fulenwider spelled his name "Follenwider." Henry was Ann's father and he was the bondsman for this marriage. The witness was Daniel Troy; he signed in the left corner of the front side. The last digit of the year has been interpreted as an "8" but I am fairly sure it was "5." Jacob and Ann's first child was born in 1797. This image is from a photocopy of the original at the North Carolna State Arhives in Raleigh.
