One of the best resources is The USGenWeb Project. Every county in every state has a volunteer county coordinator that gives of their time and experience in creating a place where one can research for their ancestors at the click of a mouse. Like everything we do in the USGenWeb, this is being done in the spirit of sharing, by sharing of resources and time to assure that all future researchers will have the benefit of this information at the click of the mouse.
