Hiram Sisson was a merchant and farmer in White Creek, New York. He attended the Grenich Academy. In 1879 the family moved to Eagle Bridge, New York. In the Sisson Newsletter, v.3, no.3, Emily Durfee's birthdate is given as "February 29, 1859," an impossibility since 1859 was not a leap year and did not have a February 29. February 1859 was only five months after the birth of Emily's next older sibling, Edward, who was born in September 1858. These two facts, as reported in the Newsletter, lead me to believe that Emily was more likely born 29 Feb 1860. She died young.

Germond C. Sisson was a farmer. "The marriage date and birth date for John G. Sisson are stated as ghey were given to us [the editors of The Sisson Newsletter]; they may or may not be in error. Our indication is that Germond [like his infant son John G. Sisson] is also buried in the Carpenter Burying Ground [near Hoosic, Renssalaer County, New York]."
