"CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Herman Moore, 60, of Charleston, died at 8:45 a.m. today at Charleston Community Hospital where he had been a patient two weeks.
Funeral services with be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Harper-Swickard funeral home here. Burial will be in Tippett cemetery, near Toledo. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Tuesday.
Mr. Moore was born April 3, 1901, in Charleston Township, a son of William and Bertha Jenkins Moore. He married Lulu Butler Jan. 25, 1930. She died several years ago.
He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Coy Stout, Charleston; and Mrs. Dan Sherrick, Lincoln, Neb.; a brother Russell Moore, Charleston; four sisters, Mrs. Henry Wheeler, Mrs. Floyd Craig, and Mrs. William Pipkins, all of Charleston; and Mrs. Inez Morris, Dayton, Ohio, and five grandchildren.
Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Mrs. Craig was born Feb. 13, 1904, in Coles County, the daughter of William and Bertha Jenkins Moore. She married Floyd Craig in 1921, who died in 1977.
She is survived by sons, Wayne of Charleston, and Clinton of Oakland; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Bolen of Janesville; a brother, Russell Moore of Missouri; sisters, Mrs. Inez Peters of Akron, Ohio and Mrs. John (Margaret) Clawson of San Diego, Cal.; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granchild.
Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by one son, two brothers, three sisters, and two grandchildren.

Ross Moore of Chrisman Dies in Hospital Sunday
Ross Moore, 46, of Chrisman, and farmer in this vicinity for five years, died at 4:10 a.m. Sunday in Paris hospital where he was taken one week ago for a heart ailment.
The deceased was born at Janesville, Ill., July 3, 1910, the son of William and Bertha Jenkins Moore and was married Oct. 9, 1942 to Betty Robinson, who survives with five children, Brenda, Donna, Stephen, Billy Joe and Danny, all at home; four sisters, Mrs. Lula Wheeler, Mrs. Ethel Craig, Miss Inez Moore and Mrs. Margaret Pipkins, all of Charleston; and two brothers, Herman and Russell of Charleston.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Mr. Moore, a member of Chrisman AmericanLegion No. 477, served in the Air Force in World War II. He was a member of the Ridgefarm Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Chrisman Christian church, Larry Doggett, pastor, officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. Mr. Miller of Danville. During the service, Mrs. Russell Chainey sang "Ivory Palaces."
Burial was in Fairview cemetery at Kansas, Scott funeral home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Don Harwood, Owen Curtis, Eugene Taylor, Wayne Craig, Robert Malaise and Marshall Sparks. The flowers were cared for by Mesdames Harwood, Curtis Taylor, Craig Malaise and Sparks.
Military rites were held at the grave.
Elmer Jarred served as chaplain and Homer Wolfe as squal leader. The firing squad was composed of Johnny Ayres, Willliam Mankin, Roy Thompson, Elmer Good, Roy Hendrix, Fred Yates and Richard Ellis. color bearers were Ira Craig and Raymond Hawkins; color guards, Wilbur Yates and Kenneth D. She is survived by three sons, Steve Moore of Westville, William J. Moore of Chrisman, and Dan Moore of Chrisman, three daughters Brenda Sims of Bourbonnais, Donna Rhoads of Ridge Farm, and Anita Marvin of Chrisman; two stepsons, Dale Kennedy and D. W. Kennedy; one brother, Wayne Robinson of Greenfield; two sisters, Phyllis Fox of Paris and Joyce Sisson of Hume; nine grandchildren; foru step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchldren.

Russell Moore, 74, of Macon, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999 at the Samaritan Hospital in Macon.
At Mr. Moore's request, there will be no funeral services. The family suggests memorials to the first Christian Church, which may be left at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon.
Mr. Moore was born on June 1, 1924 in Charleston, Ill., the son of the now late William J. and Bertha Alice Jenkins Moore.
Surviving are one son, John R. and his wife Pam Moore of McHenry, Ill.; one daughter Alice L, and her husband Mike Toppe of Maples, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Darin, Chad, and Erin Toppe, and Amber, Josh, Carlan and Brittany Moore; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Clawson of San Diego, Calif., and Inex Peters of Dayton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He had served in the Air Force during World War II, and was awarded the Purple Heart Award when his plane was shot down over Germany. He moved from Phoenix, Ariz., in 1984. He was co-owner of Piasono's Pizza and Arcade for 12 years with John A. Smith of Macon until retiring three years ago. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Macon. MRS. DONALD ISLEY OF CHARLESTON IS KILLED IN ACCIDENT
Mrs. Florence (Moore) Isley, 26, wife of donald Isley, was instantly killed near Litchfield on Route 66 Saturday night and nine persons were injured in a two-car collision. Mrs. Isley, her two children, Donald and Sharon and her uncle, John Isley of Mattoon, passengers of one car, wer enroute to St. Louis for a visit with her sister, Mrs. Margaret Pitkins. Six men, members of a Mt. Olive bowling team, enroute to Litchfield to bowl, were riding in the other car.
The accident occurred between Mt. Olive and Litchfield on route 66 around 8 o'clock.
Mrs. Isley died in the crash and all of the other nine passengers of the two automobiles were injured. Ambulances from Mt. Olive and Litchfield took the injured to St. Francis hospital in Litchfield.
The injured were John Isley, 46, Mattoon; the two Isley children, Donald Dean, 8, and Sharon, 4; and Edwin Pahde, 49; Elmer Fricke, 37; Lawrence Mueller, 54; Ed Kaiser, 67; Williiam Shelwe, 54 and Arthur LLiinz, 25 all of Mt. Olive.
The two Isley children have severe injuries.
State Policeman John Kahle of Litchfield said the cars were so mangled that he couldn't tell how the accident occurred. The right front ends of both cars were crushed.
Kahle said Isley and Fricke were the drivers of the two automobiles. The Isleys were driving sough and the other car north.
The body of Mrs. Isley was removed to the Clark Funeral Home, 1117 Jackson street, for preparation.
Friends wishing to pay their respect may now call at the Isley home, 1221 Olive Street, where the body was taken this (Monday) afternoon.
Funeral services will be held Tueday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the First Christian church. The Reverend Paul E. Hubele will officiate. The burial will be made in Resthaven cemetery.
Mrs. Isley was born June 1, 1924, a daughter of Willaiam and Bertha (Jenkins) Moore.
Besides her husband and two children, Donald Dean and Sharon, she leaves four sisters, Mrs. Jack Morris, Mrs. Floyd Craig, Mrs. Henry Wheeler, Charleston and Mrs. William Pitkins, St. Louis; three brothers, Russell Moore, Ross Moore and Herman Moore, Charleston.
Mrs. Isley was a member of the first Christian Church of Charleston.
