DEATH: (from Source #1) -Obituary from THE TOLEDO DEMOCRAT, JULY 21, 1921 --
DEATH OF AGED RESIDENT -- William Stewart, an old resident of Cumberland County
and a highly respected farmer of this community, passed away at the home of his
son, James H Stewart, near Toledo on Friday, July 15, after a short illness.  He
took suddenly ill on Thursday night and died the next day.  Mr Stewart was born
April 8, 1838, in Coles County, Illinois and was at the time of his death 83
years, 3 months and days old.  He was the son of Robert and Elizabeth Stewart,
his mother and fathe both having been born in Kentucky.  On January 22, 1858, he
was united in marriage to Miss Telitha Beavers.  Four children were born to this
union, as follows:  James H stewart, W H Stewart, Mrs Sarah Elizabeth Haddock,
deceased, and Mrs Carrie Richardson of Gettysburg, South Dakota.  There were
also twenty-three grand-children, thirty great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.  Early in life Mr Stewart united with the Christian
Church near Westfield, Illinois.  A few years later he moved near Toledo,
uniting with the Christian Church of Toledo, of which he was a member when he
passed away.  He leaves beside his wife and children, a brother Reverend James
Stewart of Indiana, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn hs
departure.  Funeral services were conducted from the Olive Church Sunday mornin
by Reverend A J Olmsted, assisted by Reverend Noah Bunton.  Burial was made in
the Toledo Cemetery.

DEATH: Obituary from THE CUMBERLAND DEMOCRAT, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 1923 --
STEWART FUNERAL HELD ON THURSDAY -- The funeral services of Mrs Talitha Stewart,
who passed away at the home of her son, W H Stewart, northeast of Toledo, on
Tuesda night, January 30, was held at the Christian church on last Thursday
afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, in charge of Reverend A J Olmsted of Toledo.  Music
was furnished by a ladies' quartet composed of Mrs A F Bussard, Mrs J P
Cuttingham, Mrs B F Noel and Mrs Laura Parker.  The hymns sung were "No Night
There" and "Jesus Savior, Pilot Me."  Interment was made in the Toledo cemetery.
The pall bearers were R Richardson, Robert Shaw, Joe Ingram, Elias Armer,
George Eskridg and William Fogleman.  There was a profusion of beautiful flowers
from sorrowin realtives and friends.  OBITUARY -- Talitha Stewart was born in
Hutton township Coles County, Illinois, on February 15, 1840, and departed this
life at the hom of her son, W H Stewart, northeast of Toledo, on January 30,
1928, being at the time of her death 82 years, 11 months and 15 days of age.
She united with the Christian church early in life near Salisbury, and about
thirty-two years ago she transferred her membership to the Christian church of
Toledo.  She has spen the most of her life as a follower and worker for the
Lord.  She moved to Toled forty-four years ago and has been a resident here
since that time.  She will be greatly missed by her many friends of this
community.  She was married to William Stewart on January 22, 1857 [1860
according to record].  Mr Stewart passed away about a year ago.  To this union
were born four children, two sons and two daughters, W H Stewart and James
Stewart of Toledo, Mrs Sarah E Haddock deceased, and Mrs Adam Richardson
(Carrie) of Gettysburg, South Dakota.  Beside the three children she is survived
by twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren.
