She served on the Hackberry Township election board, the board of directors of the American State Bank of Oswego.   She was a member of United Methodist Church at Bartlett, the Parsons Country Club and the Excelsior Chapter No. 86, Order of the Eastern Star, in Chetopa.   Survivors include two sons, William "Bill" Noble and his wife, Anita, and Larry J. Noble and his wife, LaFaye, all of rural Bartlett; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Eloise Hahn of rural Bartlett; and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Noble of Pittsburg.   She was also preceded in death by her brother, Marion Lloyd Stice, on Aug. 8, 1972.   The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church in Bartlett with the Rev. Dean Knewtson officiating. Burial will be in Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett. 'Dannie' Richardson OSWEGO - Daniel Lee "Dannie" Richardson, 78, a lifelong resident of the Oswego area, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin. His death was unexpected. He was born March 10, 1928, in rural Oswego to Elmer Dale and Maggie Mae (Stice) Richardson. He graduated from Gore Country School, which is part of the land he farmed and lived on. As a young boy, his childhood was filled with farm chores, 4-H and showing his Jersey cows. He was drafted and served two years in the Korean War. After his tour of duty, he returned to farm with his parents. He married Cleva Jean Willis on March 10, 1957, at First Methodist Church of Oswego. She survives of the home. He was a member of the American Jersey Cattle Club, Kansas Jersey Cattle Club, the Labette County Fair Board, on which he served as president for two years. He was involved in 4-H by helping numerous youth with their dairy projects and showing their animals. He also attended Faith Baptist Church in Chetopa. He and his wife developed their farm name, Richland Jerseys, which are known throughout the mid-west. His pride with his registered Jerseys could easily be seen, whether it was raising, selling or showing the Jerseys at numerous dairy shows. This year, he had been showing Jerseys for 70 years. His last show was at the 2006 Cherokee County Fair. His other interests included his family and friends, which he enjoyed and they all respected him for his kindness and honesty. Other survivors include a daughter, Marlene of the home; a son, Donald and his wife, Regina, of Oswego; three grandchildren, Linseh, Aaron and Ashley; two sisters, Velma Hollon of Oswego and Lucille Domeny of Mounds, Okla.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Marie Gillespie. The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery of rural Chetopa. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Faith Baptist Church or to the LCMC Foundation, and these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home at Box 346, Chetopa, 67336.

He and Mary Jane LeRoy of Oswego were married on February 16, 1946 in the Oswego United Methodist Church. They moved to Detroit the same year and they spent the remainder of their lives in that area. She preceded him in death in 1984.    Mr. Stice was a journeyman tuck pointer in the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union. He worked in the Building Restoration Industry on many architecturally significant older buildings in Detroit and other cities in Michigan, along with adjacent states in the mid-west.    He was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the VFW and he held leadership positions in the American Legion Post, all in Northville, Mich. In his retirement, Mr. Stice continued to be an avid reader of all types of fiction along with WWII historical novels.    He was also active in bowling and enjoyed watching action movies and westerns. Mr. Stice was a Detroit Pistons Basketball fan, following the team closely on television.   He was a dedicated family man and enjoyed spending time with his daughters' families, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.    Survivors include daughters Cynthia Abbott & Denise Gress, grandchildren Angela Jenkins, G. Robert Abbott, David Gress, Daniel Gress & Dustin Gress, seven great grandchildren, sisters M. RoAnn Sevart & Rebecca Edmondson. He was honorably discharged in 1949, then re-enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves for nine years. He married Patricia Ann Thornburg on March 15, 1958, at Presbyterian Church in Miami, Okla. She survives of the home. He worked for the U.S. Census Bureau, Charles F. Curry Mortgage Banker, Gordon Johnson Manufacturing as a computer technician and installer for the company's computer system and owned and operated a Western Auto Store in Oswego. He also worked for Midwest Minerals and Kansas Army Ammunition Plant until his retirement. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church and VFW Post No. 3399, both of Oswego. Survivors include two sons, Steven Richard Stice of Galena and Michael Roy Stice of McCune; a daughter, JoAnna Kay Yardley of Oswego; one brother, Robert E.
