  Here's a site that has a good deal of information on San Augustine County, Texas; birthplace of K.K. Runnels.  And this site is for Shelby County, Texas; birthplace of King Runnels,  just north of San Augustine County.  And this will take you to Roosevelt County, Texas; where K.K. Runnels lived out his life.  You will find information on K.K. Runnels there!   This page is part of the Texas GenWeb Project and US GenWeb Genealogy project for Runnels County, Texas

  Here's a page which is part of the RootsWeb Project that covers Curry County, New Mexico.  This is the county where Clovis is located.   Quite a few in our family came from Curry County and the Clovis area.  This page also has links to some wonderful historical and other information on the Curry County area.  One of my favorites!

DIED DECEMBER 25, 1873.
A NATIVE OF MISSISSIPPI, HE REMOVED TO TEXAS IN 1842. BY HIS PUBLIC SPIRIT AND STERN INTEGRITY HE WON THE CONFIDENCE OF THE PEOPLE WHO ELECTED HIM TO THE HIGHEST POSITIONS LEGISLATIVE AND EXECUTIVE THAT THEY HAD TO BESTOW. FILLING ALL THESE WITH HONOR TO HIMSELF AND BENEFITS TO THE COMMON WEALTH. NO FINGER CAN POINT TO A SHADOW OF CORRUPTION UPON HIS EXTENDED PUBLIC RECORD.

  Runnels, Hiram George (1796-1857) Uncle of Hardin Richard Runnels. Born in Hancock County, Ga., December 17, 1796. Mississippi state auditor, 1822-30; member of Mississippi state legislature, 1830, 1841; Governor of Mississippi, 1833-35; delegate to Texas state constitutional convention, 1845. Died in Houston, Tex., December 17, 1857. Interment at Glenwood Cemetery, Houston, Tex.  Runnels County Texas is named for him.

Here is a contribution from Kelly Parks of Mississippi.  It's called "Gone to Georgia", and there is some information listed on Runnels, Runnals, Reynolds starting in the 1700's...

Here's an interesting site that lists gravemarkers for areas in Mississippi.  Go about 1/3 of the way down the page and you will find the Runnelstown First Baptist Church Cemetery...and the expected list of Runnels "residents"!
