PA, and wife Elizabeth, to John Duncan of afsd, for 100 pounds paid, sell two lots of ground in Berwick Twp, being No.24 and 25 in plan of lots laid off by William Macky; Lot No.24 adj. lands of Frederick Wolf and Lot 25 and an ally and land formerly the widow Sowers, containing 5 acres; and Lot No.25 adj. PA to Jacob Fahnestock, merchant, of afsd, for $573.75 paid, sell parcel of land enclosed by a fence on the east side of the road leading from Abbotstown to Baltimore in Berwick Twp. adj. lands of John Fox, Henry Harmond, Jacob Oberlain and the great roads, containing 13-1/2 acres more or less, described by deeds accompanying this, which is part of larger tracts granted to Nicholas Bittinger by patent 24 March 1788, and Nicholas Bittinger and wife Christina on 17 April 1793 conveyed to John Bittinger recorded in Adams Co. PA, by writ of execution issued by Supreme Court at Yorktown 8 Dec. 1806 to Sheriff of York Co. to make of lands etc. of John Clark Esq. the sum of $2,979.67 which John Nicholson for use of Matthew Duncan lately in the Circuit Court of PA held at York Town for York Co. recovered against him for debt, and also $8.40 costs ... seized a plantation and tract of land in Franklin and Hamiltonbann Twp. late York now Adams Co. with a grist mill and saw mill on the waters of Marsh Creek containing 230 acres more or less adj. lands late of George Kerr, William Kerr, Samuel Boyer, Revd. PA, adj. land late of Samuel Porter now -- Leabrooks, the heirs of Thomas Latta decd, and others, containing 140 acres more or less, which James Ellis decd. by patent & sundry conveyances for 44 acres thereof and by sundry bills of sale for the residue in his lifetime became possessed, who died intestate & which William Lindsey Administrator of the estate of said James Ellis decd. per order of York Co. PA, Merchant, for $125 paid, sell Lot or parcel of ground in Cumberland Twp, now in the Borough of Gettysburg, Adams Co. PA, Lot 13, on NE corner of Lot No.12, by an alley, the great road, containing 3 acres and 20 perches neat measure, part of tract from Proprietors on 26 Jan. 1798 granted Alexander Cobean, which part Alexander Cobean and wife Elizabeth on 1 April 1803 sold to said James Duncan, recorded in Adams Co. Deed Book B, pg.78, and Adams Co. Book D, folio 253, together with appurtenances, subject nevertheless to the privilege of John Garvin Esqr. to take care of and cut and carry away his crop now growing on the premises, he being the present tenant, warrant title. /s/ James Duncan.       M-127/128: Bernhart Gilbert Esq. High Sheriff of Adams Co. PA, that by writ of Fieri Facias of Adams Co. tested at Gettysburg on 17 Jan. 1824, he was commanded to make of the lands of Wm. J. Cobean and Sampson J. King, Admr. of Alexr. Cobean decd, late of Adams Co., Yeoman, a levy of $4,046.32 which the Bank of Gettysburg recovered against Wm. J. Cobean & Sampson J. King, admrs. of Alexr Cobean decd, for its debt, also $8.80-1/2 damages, Sheriff to have the money by 2nd Monday April then next ... he seized as the estate of Alex. Cobean decd, among other things, a lot of ground in Greenfield in Borough of Gettysburg adj. lot of Barnabas McSherry and fronting on the York Turnpike with appurtenances, remained unsold for want of buyers, the lot of ground was not sufficient to clear the yearly rents in seven years and satisfy the debts, a writ of Venditioni Exponas issued 15 April 1824, the Sheriff to sell to highest bidder, sale on 2 Aug. 1824 to John Duncan for $31, now this a deed to John Duncan for $31 the afsd lot of ground. /s/ B. Lyon of Adams Co., for $12,500 paid, sell their interest in an undivided fourth part of Duncannon Forge, Merchant Grist & Saw Mill and Distillery in Wheatfield Twp, Perry Co., and to an undivided fourth part of tracts of land in said county, the several tracts of land conveyed by Thomas & Martha Duncan to Stephen Duncan on 22 Feb. 1827, the land & mill property conveyed by Robert Clark to Duncan & Mahen 13 April 1822, the tract of mountain land conveyed by Andrew Mahen to same on 27 April 1828, the tract of land in Wheatfield Twp. in said county conveyed by John Blair to same on March 31, 1830, and also the tract of land conveyed to same in Tyrone Twp. in said county by Jonas Jakes 5 Sept. 1827, and all his interest in the undivided fourth part of Chesnut Grove Furnace in Huntington Twp, Adams Co. and all the lands appertaining to said furnace including the land conveyed to John S. Mahon by the Sheriff of Adams Co. & subsequently conveyed to Stephen Duncan 8 Sept. 1832, the land purchased from William Plank on which the Furnace is located, the tract of land purchased from Conrad Warner on which the ore bank is situated, the land conveyed by John L.
