Obituary for Nancy Ann (Pedigo) Lair

MRS. WILLIAM LAIR DIES AT HOSPITAL

Mrs. Nancy A. Lair, for 75 years a resident of Warren county, and for the past year a resident of 834 South A. street, Monmouth, died at 7:10 o'clock Thursday morning at the Monmouth hospital. Death was due to complications with which she had been ill for the past week.

Nancy A. Pedigo was born Sept. 4, 1857, at Louisville, Ky., the daughter of William and Elizabeth Milligan Pedigo. She came to Warren county when five years old. She was married in Rock Island Aug. 2, 1875 to William Lair, who died January 17, 1921. The couple, after their marriage, lived on a farm in Kelly township until their retirement in 1917, after which time they moved to Alexis.

She leaves surviving three daughters, Mrs. Ella Rohr of Alexis, William Lair of Gerlaw, and three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Hubbard of Topeka, Kan., Mrs. Emma Stone and Mrs. W. E. Stone, both of Monmouth, Mrs. Lair was a member of the Coldbrook Christian church.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Christian church in Monmouth, with the Rev. F. W. Leonard in charge. Interment will be in the Mosher cemetery.

Friends may call at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Rohr, in Alexis, any time this evening to view the remains, and at the Sloan Funeral home in Monmouth Saturday afternoon and evening.
