Whats' New

There were many McGuire's in Westmoreland Co. There were at least three men listed in the 1790 census; John (Derry); Barnabus (Derry) and Archibald (Ligonier). By the 1800 census, there were 7 men listed as head of McGuire households and over 40 more household members. Almost all McGuires in the Westmoreland census records through 1840 were listed as US born. McGuire's born in Ireland began to show up in the railroad camps in the 1850 census.

Associated families to the James A. McGuire family include Goodman, Miller, Cummins, Cannon and Culbertson. Families associated with the John McGuire family include Cannon, Ferguson, McComb, and Johnston. Familes associated with the Barnabus McGuire family include Oster (Easter), Nolder, Pendergrass, Miller and Runyon.
