Hopkins, Charles deed from Roger

THIS INDENTURE made this sixteenth day of April in the
year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & ninety five & in the nineteenth year
of the Independence of America between Roger Williams of the county of Randolph &
state of N Carolina of the one part & Charles Hopkins of the county & state afsd
of the other part Witnesseth that the sd Roger Williams for & in
consideration of the sum of forty pounds by the sd Charles Hopkins to the sd
Roger Williams in hand paid at or before the sealing & delivery of these preasants the
receipt whereof the sd Roger Williams fully acknowledgeth he the sd Roger
Williams hath given granted bargained & sold & by these preasents doath give grant
bargain & sell & deliver unto the sd Charles Hopkins his heirs exr
adminr or assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the
county of Randolph on the watters of Big Creek it being part of a three hundred acre tract
pattant to Joseph Moore in the state office of North Carolina begining at a post oak bush
the last corner of sd 300 acre tract & runing no. 100 ps with sd
old line to a stake thence est 160 ps to a stake in sd old line
again thence south with sd old line 100 poles to a white oak a corner of said
old survey thence west 160 ps with sd old line to the place of begining
containing one hundred acres relation thereto may be had & more fully appear To have
and to hold the affore granted land with the appurtenances & all rights priviledges
& improvements to the same in any wise belonging to him the sd Charles Hopkins his
heirs & assigns forever & he the said Roger Williams for himself his heirs exr
admr or assigns eoath covenant & agrtee to & with the sd Charles
Hopkins that he shall & may forever peaceably & quietely have hold occupy possess
& enjoy the affore granted lands & premises without the let or molestation of any
person or persons whatsoever & free & clear from all maner of incumbrances
whatsoever & the sd Roger William doath oblige myself my heirs exr or amr
to warrant & forever defend the affore granted land & premises to the sd
Charles Hopkins his heirs & assigns forever against the claims or demands of any
person or persons whatsoever In witness whereof I the sd Roger Williams have
hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal the day & year first above written

The execution of the above deed of convayance was duly
proved in open court by John Cranford & ordered to be registered.
