The Halsey Surname Ring

Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Halsey Surname WebRing. This ring was started to bring together all of the sites on the World Wide Web that contain information on the Halsey Family.

There is no cost or obligation to join the ring, all you have to do is be willing, and if later you find you're not interested in being a member, you can easily remove yourself.

There are a few restrictions on being a member, and this is done to keep unwanted sites from joining the ring. These restrictions are simple and anyone with a website about genealogy and the Halsey Family can pass them.

What is the Halsey Surname WebRing?
The Halsey Surname Ring is one of about 200 genealogy WebRings hosted by webring.org. A WebRing is a group of pages on a related topic. Through navigation links on member pages, visitors can explore all of the sites in the ring. They can move through the ring in either direction, jump to a random site within the ring, or choose from a list of all of the sites included in the ring. Why join?
To make it easier for people who are interested in Halsey genealogy to find your site. Some of them could be your long-lost cousins!

Who may join?
Anyone who has a web page containing Halsey genealogy or family history. The page should be compatible with the most commonly used browsers.

What's the catch?
There is no catch. The ring is free. It exists solely to help Halsey genealogy researchers to find each other.

How can I join?
Make sure your site meets the following requirements:

* Your Website must be about the Halsey surname.
* Your page should be a personal home page; that is, non-profit.
* You must have a site that has NO offensive pictures or text.
* You MUST display the Halsey Surname Ring table on your website.
We ask that you either place it on your index page or on a
separate page that only contains webrings.

Before you start, it's a good idea to ensure that your page is compatible with the most commonly used browsers (Netscape 3.0, 4.0, MS-IE 3.0, 4.0).

By submitting your site, you have added your page to the Halsey Surname Ring queue. We will check it within 24 hours to ensure that it meets the requirements.

When your submission has been approved, you will receive an email giving you your site ID number. Edit the HTML code you will put on your page & replace all occurrences of YOUR_SITE_ID with your site ID number.

You will now need to add the proper HTML links (see below) on your page before the I will make your site an active member of the ring. Please email the me if you have any questions or problems.

Depending on which table you choose for your page, you must download the accompanying graphic(s) to your own computer. If you choose the large table, you need to download both "prevsite.gif" and "nextsite.gif." If you choose the small table, you must download "ring.gif."

In order to download a graphic and save it to your own computer, right-click on the desired picture and select "Save Picture As" or "Save Image As." Once you have saved the graphics, upload them to your web server. If this method of saving the files does not work, e-mail me for further assistance.

Copy the HTML code exactly as it appears below and paste it to your web page. Make sure that you follow the directions above in placing the ID code that you will be given in your e-mail.
