This was written years ago...I haven't changed much on the site since. David Grubb only further proved that the line that the Grubbs are descended from is not the one of royalty. Please feel free to look into the archives at rootsweb, to see how the contributors and queiriests (is that a word?), played a part in the investigation. David's work is fascinating and the use of light, enabled him to read documents many thought were useless. A valuable lesson for us all. About
a year ago, I learned here on the internet, that my ancestor Stephanus
Haworth had a wife, Rachel Beeson, with lines full of fame and royalty.
Now, not only are the facts to back those lineages up missing, but there
is doubt cast upon the histories of the genealogists of long ago, whose
writings have been recorded near as factually as legal documents.
Sometimes, all we can do, is collect everything, then decide for ourselves.
This site is dedicated to that spirit.
My line direct descendancy to Stephanus and Rachel is through my grandmother, Edith (York) m. George Norman Rogers. Her mother, Mary Elizabeth (Haworth) m. John York. Her father Samual Anderson Haworth m. to Lavina Newman, his father James Haworth m. to Frances Winn, then Mary Whitson, his father Samuel Haworth m. to Elizabeth Paine, his father Micajah Haworth m. to Mary McCurry, his father was Stephanus m. to Rachel Beeson, he from Bucks, Pennsylvania and she from Hopewell, FR., VA. Stephanus' father, George Haworth, b. 1682, (affectionately known as George the Immigrant), came from Rockcliff, Bacup, Lancashire, England. George's parents were James Haworth and Isobel Radcliff, of Lancashire, England. |
