Richard HYDE was born about 1611 in England. It is believed that his wife's name was Judah/Jurah. Richard Hide was age 24 when he was transported to Virginia on the George on 21 Aug 1635.

After Richard died Mary married Thomas COTTEN. Her will was dated 7 Mar 1728/9 and proved in Surry Co, VA 21 May 1729.

Richard HYDE born circa 1682 at Surry Co, VA. He married Mary EVANS about 1700. Richard was a pirate and member of Blackbeard's gang. He quit his life of piracy when Edward Teach (Blackbeard) was killed in 1718.

After Richard died Mary married Charles LUCAS

Richard HYDE, born 1717 at Southwark Parish, Surry Co, VA. He married Mildred HARTWELL about 1744.

Richard was a "Licensed Indian Trader". The family lived along the Roanoke River and owned a ferry which crossed the Roanoke River at Hyde Island before 1718. Brunswick Co, Va Land Records.

Richard left a will on 17 May 1762 at Northampton Co, NC.

Milly's deed of gift may be found in Hallifax Co, NC, Deed Book 17, p 797-798, 20 Jul 1795. In the deed of gift she names children and some grandchildren.
