  The death occurred on Christmas Eve, 1940, at Boyd’s P.O. of Isabelle Boyd (nee Chisholm) in her 91st year, consoled by the last rites of Holy Church of which she was always a devout member. Deceased was a woman of sterling character, noted for her hospitality, and always ready to lend a hand to those in need. She was twice married, her husband, one son and one daughter predeceased her by a number of years. She is survived by two sons and two daughters; Hugh on the old homestead with whom she resided; Dougald in the Canadian West; Mabel in Montreal; Mary K. Merigomish; also an adopted son Eddie in Pickle Crow, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All will cherish the memory of a kind and loving mother. After requiem high Mass sung by her pastor Rev. J.A. MacPherson, who also officiated at the grave, her remains were tenderly laid to rest at South River cemetery. R.I.P.³

  Hugh Boyd, 87, died August 20 at his home in Fraser’s Mills.
  
  Born at Fraser’s Mills, he was a son of the late Hugh and Isabel (Chisholm) Boyd.
  
  He served with the 85^th battalion in World War I and was a member of Arras Branch Royal Canadian Legion.
  
  His life was spent at Fraser’s Mills where he was a well known farmer.
  
  He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Gillis of Dunmore; five sons, Owen of London, Ontario; James, with the R.C.A.F. in Sydney, William, Sudbury, Ontario, Archie, at home, Leo, Arichat and two daughters, Mary K. (Mrs. John Clouse), Lansing, Michigan, and Isabel, Windsor, Ontario and eight grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Mabel Perryn, lives in London, Ontario.
  
  The military funeral Tuesday morning was held from his residence to St. Andrew’s Church for nine o’clock Mass. Burial was in South River cemetery.⁴
