Fuqua Query Service
Queries regarding all branches of the Fuqua family are welcome.
Queries should be submitted in one of two ways:
The Fuqua List at Ancestry is an e-mail “list” which is
dedicated to the Fuqua surname. In order to post an e-mail query to the
list, it is necessary to subscribe to the list. There is no cost and no
obligation associated with being a subscriber. In this case “subscriber”
really means “member.” Members of the Fuqua List can post messages,
which all other members of the list will see. Responses to a query will
normally be posted to the list, so ALL members of the list can benefit
from the response. A response may come from any member who has the
information, from Claire Fuqua (after a search of the Fuqua database), or
from no-one if the answer to a query is not known. One advantage of
posting a query on the Fuqua List is that, even if an answer is not
immediately available, a lot of Fuqua researchers will have seen the query
and may respond at a later time. One can easily “unsubscribe” at any
time.

The Fuqua Query Board at Ancestry is a web page which offers the
ability to post a Fuqua query. It is necessary to open a free (no cost, no obligation) Ancestry account
to post queries on this board. There are several advantages to using the
query board. The first is that anyone who visits the site can read your
query. In addition, a directory of previous queries and responses is
displayed, and any previous message can be read. Your question may have
already been asked and answered. It is possible to have the board
automatically notify you every time a response is posted, so you
don’t have to keep logging on to see if there is anything new. Perhaps
most important is the fact that all messages posted on the board are
automatically relayed to the Fuqua List, even if you are not a subscriber
to the list.
You can access the Fuqua Query Board by logging on to: http://boards.ancestry.com/surnames.fuqua/mb.ashx
.
The level of activity on the Fuqua List and the Fuqua Query Board is
highly variable, with the Fuqua List carrying all of the of the messages
posted by list members plus all of the messages posted on the board.
Don’t be shy! Post a query, and see what happens. The information you desire may
be just a query away.
