Data Exchange
Information exchange is the bread and butter of
genealogy. It provides a sense of family and community. It also saves
everybody a lot of time. The Fuqua Databases were built largely on the basis
of shared information.
Our policy has always been, and continues to be, to provide any
information we have, at no cost and with no obligation. We do expect, and
appreciate, corrections to any information we provide. It is in this way
that the databases are kept as correct as possible. We also appreciate the
offering of supplemental information, which is one of the ways the
databases continue to grow.
Occasionally, we have been requested to provide a copy of the databases.
We have not honored such requests. Recently, we have provided access to the databases via this website.
For us, and those who continue to work with us, Fuqua genealogy is a labor
of love. We ask for nothing in return but thanks and appreciation for
whatever we are able to provide.
It is very disheartening when we provide information to someone who not
only offers nothing in return, but does not acknowledge having received
anything, and does not think our effort is even worth a simple “Thank
You.” We try to smile and carry on when this happens for, in
the maelstrom of daily life, we have probably also forgotten a thank you or two.
In the meantime, we continue to pursue the improbable goal of identifying
and connecting every “Fuqua” who has ever lived in this country. Now….
If we only had three more lifetimes….
