license.

- "Guernsey Times" (newspaper) by Carol Willsey Bell, C.G. - 31 May 1860,
Petition filed against James Selby, John Selby & Nicholas Selby of Penna.,
& the heirs of Alvina CHESSER, whose residence is unknown; also against
Lloyd Selby, Jehu P. Selby & John HILDEBRAND: said Jehu P. Selby is since
deceased, leaving the first named heirs at law.

HRN Co., 1 Lot in Cadiz T55, rec. at Steubenville. Wit: Andrew McNeely
J.P., and Caleb Selby. Martha's dower release included.

Bk A:232 - 20 Jun 1815 - Nicholas & Lucia (in body, & Lucretia) Lucrecia
(her mark) of HRN Co. to John Rea of HRN Co., 1 lot in Cadiz T55. Wit:
Charles Chapman, James Allison, Nicholas signed.

(Nicholas SELBY 1750-1825 A.A. Co., MD, m. ca 1755 Lucretia EVANS
1756-1817; parents of Caleb Selby m. Nancy Longsworth/Longworth. Caleb was
assignee of Nicholas in HRN Co. Not all on these two have been straightened
yet.)

Bk D:80 - 5 Feb 1827 - John Selby of HRN Co. to Lloyd Selby of Anne Arundel
Co., MD. John in consideration of a division of property of Nicholas Selby,
deceased, & in consideration of $10 paid by Lloyd Selby; lot or parcel in
NW corner of NW 1/4 of S34 T10 R5, 30 ac in an exact square. Lands directed
sold at Steubenville deeded to Nicholas Selby on 20 Jun 1820. No spouse
named for John nor a dower release. John Selby signed.

Bk D:81 - 9 Jan 1827 - Lloyd Selby of A.A. Co., MD; Caleb Selby of Knox
Co., OH, & James Selby of Richland Co., OH, for $10 paid by John Selby do
quit claim to John the NW 1/4, S34 T10 R5, 160 ac & 8/100 deeded to
Nicholas Selby 20 Jun 1820 at Seubenville. Lloyd, Caleb, James Selby each
signed.

Bk J:385 - 20 Nov 1840 - William B. and Elizabeth Hamilton to James Selby
inlot 19 at Moorefield.

Bk K:324 - 1 Jan 1844 - John W. Selby of HRN Co. took back the mortgage
from James Selby and Mary his wife of HRN Co. who executed a promissory
note for 84 ac the SW 1/4 of S28 T10 R6 in Belmont Co. Wit: Samuel Furnace,
Joseph Romans J.P.
        (John W. Selby was the son of Thomas-2 Selby and Sarah Benson and
not
known to be related to this group of Selbys.)

Bk K:387 - 16 Aug 1844 - Lloyd Selby of A.A. Co., MD, to John Selby of HRN
Co. 30 ac.

BK K:387 - 29 Nov 1844 - John & Prudence Selby of HRN Co. to Hannah
Henderson of HRN Co. for $2,000 for NW 1/4 of S35 T10 R6, 160 ac. John and
Prudence signed. Wit: Elijah Carson, Henry Pugh.

Bk L:81 - 25 Nov 1845 - James & Mary Selby of HRN Co. to Benjamin Wood of
same, inlot 19 Moorefield.

- John/Prudence in HRN Co. 1820, 1830, 1840, 1850?; 1860 Guernsey; Prudence
1880 Guernsey. The Linkhorn name is also affiliated in Guernsey Co. 1840
HRN Co., OH, census shows families of Rogers, Pugh, James & Nicholas Selby
and Poulson in Nottingham and John Selby in Cadiz.

John Selby's name frequently appears in early issues of the Cadiz
newspapers in Harrison Co., the "The Cadiz Organ" - "The Cadiz Sentinel" -
"The Cadiz Republican."
