LETTER EXTRACTS

We present extracts from letters written by people of our name seeming to indicate a widely-scattered relationship:

F. J. DeHART, Route 1, Cortland, N. Y. - I only wish that we might be able to attend your annual reunion. If is possible for me to do so, I will. I wish to thank you again for the interest you have taken in writing me and assure you that I will write you again in regard to matters concerning the origin of our name. I might say that this same story that has been handed down to you about the four brothers coming from France and landing at Charleston, South Carolina, has also been told to me by grandmother who married Abram DeHart, and this other F. J. DeHart was told the same story.

JOHN S.
