Leven Powell (1737-1810) served as lieutenant colonel of Grayson's Continental regiment 1777 and was ill after the exposure at Valley Forge 1778 and obliged to resign. Andrew Hamilton, Jr., in 1778, was ensign under Capt. William Kinkead, his father-in-law. He was born in Virginia; died, 1820, in Woodford County, Ky. William Kinkead (1736-1823), in 1777, commanded a company of Virginia militia which marched from Staunton to protect the fronteirs from the Indians. He was born in Pennsylvania; died in Kentucky. Benjamin Quinn (1747-1823) served as private in Captain Lewis' company, Colonel Barber's regiment, Virginia Line. He was born in Virginia; died in Kentucky. Richard Wells (1715-1808) enlisted, 1776, in Capt. John Nelson's Independent Company of riflemen, 1st Pennsylvania battalion, commanded by Col. John Philip De Haas. He was born in Baltimore, Md.; died in Mason County, Ky. Also No. 67537. Samuel Stout (1730-1803) commanded the 3rd regiment, Hunterdon County, New Jersey troops. He was born and died in New Jersey. John Stout was a private in Captain Tucker's company, 1st regiment, Hunterdon County, N. J., 1777. He was born in New Jersey; died, 1798, in Middlesex County, N. J.
