You can order these pension records from the Library of VA.
Archival Collection Materials
To obtain information about ordering copies of archival materials please write to
Archives Research Services, The Library of Virginia, 800 East Broad Street,
Richmond, Virginia 23219.Requests submitted by fax or E-mail cannot be accepted
at this
time.
Include the following information in your written request:
The full name of the individual concerned;
The specific document desired, including the name of the collection in which it is found;
The name of the county or city in which the person resided or in which the document
was recorded;
Approximate date of the document or of recordation.
Limit inquiries to two names, documents, or items per letter.
Include a stamped, self- addressed envelope and the service fee for out-of-state
correspondents noted below.
After receiving your query, the staff will prepare a photoduplication order form, citing
the cost of the records you specified and will return the order form to you. If you wish
copies of the records cited, return the form with the amount specified. Your order will
be processed and the records sent by return mail.
Because of the volume of mail received by our staff, allow four to six weeks for a reply
to your inquiry.
The indexes included on the LVA homepage are to but a few of the many records
available for research. If you plan extensive research into Virginia resources, the staff
advises a personal visit to the Library. Your local library or historical society may also
be of assistance in obtaining printed materials and microfilm through the interlibrary
loan
system. Contact your library or historical society for more information. Our pamphlet,
"Genealogical Research at the Library of Virginia," more fully explains the
records in our
collection and is available free upon request to Archives Research Services, The
Library of Virginia, 800 East Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia 23219.
FEES
The Library assesses a non-refundable service fee of $10.00 for replies to all out-of-
state requests for search services. The service fee must be paid at the time an inquiry is
submitted and covers staff time necessary to:
Locate the records you specified, if in our collection;
Examine the material for content;
Determine the method of reproduction;
Mark the material for reproduction;
Prepare a reply or order form.
If extended, in-depth research is required, a list of professional researchers familiar
with
the printed and manuscript material in our collections will be furnished.
The Library does not accept payment by credit card. Payments must be made in U.S.
currency or by checks drawn on a U.S. bank.
