President Richard Nixion was descended from this line!
He descends from Restore Lippincott, son of Richard and
Abigail.
From Gary Boyd Roberts book on Ancestors of American Presidents?
It should be in almost any good genealogy library.
It lists
Nixon's ancestry back to Rebecca, daughter of Restore LIPPINCOTT
and Hannah Shattuck, who was born in 1684. She married Josiah
Gaskill. From there it goes to Jonathan Gaskill and Jane Shinn (the
Shinns are another of MY lines). From there it goes to Hope Gaskill and her husband
James Cattell, Jr. (Burlington County, NJ). Their daughter Jane Cattell married
Benjamin Malmsbury and they moved to Goshen, Ohio. Their daughter Hope married James
Hemingway, Jr. and they had a daughter Jane M. who married Oliver Burdg. Their
daughter Almira Park Burdg married Franklin Milhous and their daughter Hannah Milhous
married Francis Anthony Nixon and they were Richard Nixon's parents.

GASCOIGNE, GASKIN, GASKILL, GASCOYNE
Edward Gascoign the Immigrant, a shipright from England came to Boston in 1635. Some of
his descendants suffering the persecutions of the Friends, by the Pilgrims, in
Massachusetts moved to Shelter Island, New York. (Shannels N.J. First Citizens, State
Guide, Volume II 1919-1920. pg. 180).
From Nelson burr Gaskill who compiled "Genealogical and Biographical Notes Concerning
Edward Gaskill, 1667-c1748. His ancestry and osteriaty" by Thomas L. and Nelson B.
Gaskill, pub. 1956 (hereafter referred to as NBG) states:
GASCOIGNE was a Hugenot who fled to England and then to America - he gives a reference I
have not found "Famlee Minorum Gentium" Vol. 1 page 302. which may substantiate
this statement. Othere sources say he was born in Gascony, France or originally from
there. The possible origin of the name being "wine makers."
From the Dictionary of the Ancestral Heads of New England Familles 1620-1700, by Frank R.
Holmes.
GASCOYNE, GASKIN, GASKELL: an ancient English family. the name derived from the GAelic
word GASIGELL, valourous.
Gaskill, gaskell (Eng.) One who came from Gaisgill (Wild Goose)
"GASKIN, GASKINS, GASKING (Eng) one who came from Gascony (land of the Basques), A
region in Southewest France."
From N.Y. Genealogical and Biographical Record Volume 20 page 32-33:
"The GASKELLS and GASKINS of Monmouth and Burlington County are the Huguenot origin,
descending from Edward GASCOYNE, a shipwright, who had
a grant of land in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1639. He had a son Samuel who married Provided SOUTHWICK..."
From Cuddeback and Hacket "Gaskill Genealogy" we have one more tidbit "In
the Register of Baptisims for the Parish of Upholland is the following entry: Edmund (or
Edward) Filius of Thomas GASKELL de Upholland in New Gate, 6 June, 1609."
Edward, shipwright, granted land at Salem, MASS., 1637. His wife's name is given as Sarah,
last name unknown, possibly PARKER.
Savage lists the following children all baptized Congregational Church, Salem MA.
