Gerald moved to Wisconsin where he married Della (Melchert) Phipps. They lived in Waunakee, Madison, Mazomanie, Albion, and Albany, Wisconsin. Gerald is survived by his wife, Della, their three children, Jerry (Barb) Phipps of Poynette, and grandchildren, Jeremiah, Joshua, and Naomi Phipps; Tammie (Cliff) Murray of McFarland, and grandchildren, Donielle and Trevor Murray; and Todd (Sandra) Phipps of Mazomanie, and grandchildren, Davidge and Garrett Phipps, Brittany and AC Brooks and great-grandchild, Xavier Townsend. Gerald is also survived by brothers, Charlie and Fred Phipps of Colorado, Warren (Mary) Phipps of New Mexico, Lavern (Barbara) Phipps of Arkansas, Lee (Eva) Phipps of Oklahoma, and sister, Lilly Gaye (Bill) Quinalty of Arkansas.
