Anna and George Miller

Anna Eliese Hockemeyer was born August 9, 1870 in Campbellton, Missouri. She married George Miller in 1904 and they had 3 children. Anna was the church organist.

George and Anna and their sons moved to Washington, Missouri where they lived the rest of their lives. I think that Anna Miller and her sister Tillie came to visit us in Fort Smith in the mid to late 1950's. However I was too young to remember. I do remember that we took a trip to Washington, Missouri in the late 1950's or early 1960's and visited with several members of Anna's family.

As a young man, Dad (Dayton Young) worked briefly for Anna's son, Eldon.

In the summer of 2001, Mimi Miller Boener wrote; "Anna Hockemeyer was my great grandmother. I remember her well. She had a little bantam hen that would come in the morning and lay an egg on the window sill and she also kept tame parakeets who would eat toast with her in the morning. She kept a little box in the basement with empty glass jars for me to play with. Everyone says that I look very much like her."
