Dr. John "Riley" Bailey family

Dr. John "Riley" Bailey was born about 1840 in Georgia. He married Mary Jennings, born 1848 in Georgia. They are buried in Lindsey Cemetery in Lawrence County, Alabama. Randy Bailey says that he was born Riley S. Bailey, and that he served in the Civil War -- 41`st Georgia infantry, dispached on detail December, 1863. Russell Mattox says he was born 1838. The headstone purchased by relatives in the 1990's lists his birth year as 1840.
