PATRICIA TRANTOW
Patricia Dell McCamish Trantow, a Bingen resident, died July 6,
1997, in Portland, Ore., at the age of 56.
Mrs. Trantow was born April 7, 1941, in Pasco. She moved to White
Salmon with her children from Idaho in 1980 and worked on the Gifford Pinchot
National Forest at Willard until her retirement in 1995. She had been employed
by the UFS since September 1973. She married Terry Trantow in Bingen on Feb. 12,
1986. She loved the crafts of spinning, weaving, and rug braiding. She was an
active member of the Columbia Fibres Guild. She also spent much of her time
growing and tending the plants in her yard and garden, in addition to restoring
her third "old house." She is survived by her husband, Terry, Bingen; mother
Margaret McCamish, Seattle; brothers Walter "Duke" McCamish, Joppa, Md., John
McCamish, Anchorage, Alaska, Keith McCamish, Tukwila, and Kevin McCamish,
Seattle; daughter Andrea DeCarlo, East Glacier, Mont.; son Anthony Parsons, Hood
River; uncle Norman Dam, Greenville, S.C.; aunt Jerry Peebles, Portland, Ore.;
and grandchildren Alexandria and Brandon DeCarlo.
There will be no funeral or service at her request but memorials may
be given in her name to the Gorge Heritage Museum, PO Box 394, Bingen, Wash.
98605; or to the American Cancer Association in care of Holman Mortuary of
Portland, who was in charge of the arrangements.
