McCLANATHAN

Former Goldendale City Councilman John McClanathan died of natural causes Jan. 29, at his home in Nampa, Idaho. He was 65.

Born Ju1y19, 1923 in Sylvan, Grove, Kan., to John and Bessie McClanathan, he attended school and spent his early life in Cowiche, Wash.

After serving in the Navy and attending the University of Denver, he moved to Goldendale in 1952. Mr. McClanathan worked a clerk at the U.S. Post Office and later went into the plumbing business. He moved his trade to Nampa in 1972.

Mr. McClanathan served 12 years on the Goldendale City Council.

Survivors include two sons, three sisters, a brother, two step-children, six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
