ADA SHANNON WILKES
An Underwood resident since 1973, Mrs. Ada Wilkes died
Aug. 6 in Las Vegas, Nev., after a short illness. She was 71.
Services were Aug. 12 at Scharbach Funeral Home in Grand
Coulee, Wash., the Rev. J. William Woodward officiating. Mrs. Wilkes is survived
by her husband, Ray Wilkes, Underwood; two sisters, Susie Rice, Grand Coulee,
and Hazel O'Neil, Pasco; one brother, Louis Colburn, Spokane; and two
half-brothers, Max West, Sacramento, Calif. and Ray West, Hillfield, Utah.
She was born Ada Colburn on Nov. 17, 1906, in Forsythe,
Mont., and married Ray Wilkes June 11, 1973 in Grand Coulee. She had been
a resident of that city since 1932, and operated a business during dam
construction there. She was a member of the Grand Coulee Eagles Lodge.
Interment was in Spring Canyon Cemetery, Grand Coulee,
with the arrangements by Scharbach Funeral Home.
