ALVIN L. HENRY

     Graveside services for Alvin L. Henry, formerly of White Salmon, lately of North Bonneville, will be Thursday, 11 a.m. at White Salmon Cemetery. Henry died Saturday in Hood River. He was 79.
     Mr. Henry was born Dec. 7, 1913 in Newberry, Mich., to Ada (VanGuisen) and Ralph Henry. He grew up in Michigan and Minnesota and moved to White Salmon when he was age 20. He was in the U.S. Army and served overseas during World War II.
     After discharge, Mr. Henry moved back to White Salmon to work for SDS Lumber Co. until retirement in 1 970s. He married Anna Prideaux in 1972, moved to North Bonneville about 10 years ago.
     He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and American Legion. He loved to fish and bowl.
     He is survived by his wife, Anna of North Bonneville; children, Dean and Don Henry, both of Bingen, Diane Thomas of White Salmon, Darlene Russell of Auburn, Wash; sister, Mary Lou Wright of Jacksonville, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
     Gardner Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
