LAST CHANCE TO RIDE OLD SHAY LOGGING TRAIN
Oldtime railway buffs are offered a last chance to ride
the Shay logging train which supplies logs to J. Neils-St. Regis' sawmill
at Klickitat. Log trucks will soon replace the trains.
The Puget Sound Railway Historical Assn. and St. Regis
will sponsor a farewell excursion trip Saturday April 4, over the 18-mile
railroad which follows the Klickitat River canyon.
At least 200 tickets must be sold by Friday, March 20,
for the trip to go as scheduled.
The public may order tickets ($7 for adults and $5 for
children under 12) from the Puget Sound Railway Historical Assn., 408 W.
9th St., The Dalles, Oregon.
Proceeds from the excursion are ear-marked for the Railway
Historical Association's museum in Snoqualmie.
