Walsh of the Mountain
Possible Pedigrees (2)

County Kilkenny, Ireland

Mountain Pedigree #2 - By Generation

Preface: The pedigree below is intended only as a rough outline of names, timeframes, and references which originate from the list of sources cited at the botton of this page. It is not meant to be an official genealogy and by its very nature contains errors, estimates and information that can not be fully substantiated through 'historical' documentation. Actual records appear to surface with Geoffrey Walsh (generation #7 on the chart) and his descendants. There is an early County Kilkenny reference, dated 1374 in the Calendar of Ormond Deeds, to a "Geoffrey son of Thomas son of Nicholas son of Howell Walshe," which appears form the basis for generations four through seven.
Also refer to Possible Pedigree #1. The early portion of the pedigree is largely based on Burke (Landed Gentry, 1912), and various genealogical statements which are covered in Joseph Cyrillus Walsh's book, Walsh 1170-1690, 1925.
