There are two birth/baptism records for George, son of Hugh Jamieson and Elizabeth Brown. It is not clear whether they are two separate families, or whether they are the same parents with two separate children.
There are two marriage records of the parents. Spellings in some indexes vary slightly but the differences are not apparent in the originals. Note that the 1808 birth of George occurred after both marriages.
There were 10 Hugh Jameisons baptized in Renfrewshire from 1755-1792,five of them in Abbey Parish or Paisley Burch or Low Parish. It seems reasonable to conclude that it is possible that they are two separate families. George's marriage was at Paisley Middle Parish, and he and Ann were both ME. The Hugh Jamieson of the Paisley Middle Jamieson/Brown marriage was also ME. Thus the conclusion that the george Jamieson who married Ann Cochran was the George baptized at Paisley Middle Church in 1808.
