200. Joshua8 Porter
Joshua Porter timeline: Unless otherwise stated, all locations through 1806 are in Hampshire Co., Massachusetts, until 1811.  After 1811, Ashfield and Conway are in Franklin Co., Massachusetts.  Beyond that time all locations are in Ontario Co., New York.

Commas have been added to land descriptions for clarity.  Other than actual Massachusetts records, most of the Massachusetts locations were probably recorded after the family moved to New York.  Conway would have been the last place in Massachusetts were they lived, and therefore the best remembered.

353. Lucy9 [--?--]
Picture this: Lucy is a young woman, age 31, in 1813.

Now, it is seven years later, 1820.  She and her children are living in Sweden, a town in Monroe Co., New York, which was first settled only thirteen years earlier.  Living nearby is her brother-in-law, Isaac Van Dorn, and his family.  How did they get there?  The construction of the Erie Canal didn't begin until about 1820.

By 1830, Lucy and Isaac are still in Sweden, in separate households.  Isaac's wife died in 1828.  Lucy's oldest daughter is no longer in her household.  Her son is now an adult and her family is recorded with him as the head of the household.

Lucy died in 1834.  In 1836 her son was able to purchase land for a substantial amount of money?  Had she been able to manage her husband's estate so that there was money left over?
