About the applicant

Sven Thoreson was a private in the Wisconsin 1st Independent Battery, Light Artillery. During Sven's service, this unit was stationed at Fort Williams near Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He mustered into the service on August 30, 1864 and mustered out of the service at Baton Rouge, La. on July 26, 1865.
