Mrs. Grover Cleveland West, 83, died at 4:15 a.m. today at the Columbia Gardens Retirement and Nursing Center after an illness of two months.
 Funeral arrangements are incomplete.  The body is at Parker's Chapel, where friends may call after noon Wednesday.
  Mrs. West, the former Miss Anna May Sandker, was born in Boone County on Dec. 26, 1884 to James Frederick Sandker and Anna Adkinson Sandker.  She was married in Columbin on July 29, 1903, and her husband died Sept. 30, 1965.
  Mrs. West was a lifetime resident of Boone County and a member of the Church of God Holiness.
  Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Hubert Moore of 64th Ave.; four sons, Clarence A. West of Kansas City, Ernest Ray West of Tucson, Ariz., Elbert L. West of Hartsburg, and Otis G. West of Columbia; three half sisters, Mrs. Leslie W. Crosswhite of 508 Ridgeway Ave., Mrs. Myrtle Brown of near Canton, Ill., and Mrs. Cora Rector of Hallsville; a half brother, Mack Sandker of rural Columbia; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Virgie Riley, 77, Centralia, died Wednesday at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico. Mrs. Riley was born in Saline County July 22, 1897, and was the daughter of Beaugard (Stice) and Anna Casey. She married the late James Rolla Riley in February 1916. Mrs. Riley was preceded in death by one brother. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. James (Thelma) Reams, Centralia; a son, Edward Harold Riley, of Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Riley, of Columbia, and Mrs. Helen McBride, Flint, Mich.; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Riley was a member of the First Baptist Church, Centralia, the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class and the Angel Club. Visitation will be until 11 a.m. Saturday at Meador and Sons Funeral Home in Centralia. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Centralia, with the Rev. Mitchel Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Centralia.
