  3. Obituary: CHICO ENTERPRISE-RECORD ........Saturday, July 1 JESS BATES MITCHELL, 89, a resident of Chico for the past 35 years, died Friday at Enloe Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was born near Omaha, Nebraska, Oct. 18, 1878, and was reared in that area. He served with the U. S. Army during World War 1. For several years he and his family lived in Oregon before moving to Chico in 1932. Survivors include his widow Ruby; three sons, LeRoy of Chico, Harley of Willows and Jess Jr. of Los Angeles; three daughters, Mrs. Rosie Warwick of Magalia, Mrs. Thelma Vangunda of Chico and Mrs. Lucille Chaplin of Butte City; 30 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A son Clarence of Chico, died in an auto accident in July 1965. Funeral services will be conducted in the Timmons-Van Hook Funeral Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Robert Satterfield of Chico Congregational Church officiating. Interment will be in Chico Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Raymond Brown, Nathan Metz, Arlie Hamons, Jess and Syrus Vangunda and Charlie Wicks.

Mrs. Herbert Anderson.  Dysa Mae Bellamy Corkin, born January 8, 1898 at Smithfield Nebr., and peacefully passed away, December 15, 1938 at an Omaha hospital after a lingering illness to be with the Lord who she dearly loved.
  On February 9, 1916, she was united in marriage to Herbert Anderson of Lexington, Nebr.  To this union four children were born, three of whom survive.
  She is deeply mourned by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Edith Allen, Doris and Norma Jean, all of Lexington, her aged father Phillip Bellamy, three sisters, Mrs. Clara Corfield, Mrs. Blanche Houser and Cora and Glenn Bellamy, all of Portland, Ore., Frank and Roy Bellamy of Grey Bull, Wyo., and Alfred of North Platte.  Her foster father Jack Corkin of Lexington, and many other relatives and friends.  Her mother and infant son preceeded her in death many years ago.  At the age of 10 years she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Corkin, with whom she made her home until the time of her marriage.
  She was a kind and loving mother, her thoughts were always of her dear ones.

Just a smile of love anew
Just a tear in silence falling,
And a yearning just for you.
  Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, December 19 at the ..erson funeral home at Lexington with Rev. Fraser of Sumner offficiating.  Burial at the Greenwood cemetery.
